BOOK REVIEW By Peter Baker

The Essential Buyer’s Guide: Morgan Plus 8 -All Models 1968-2004

The first time I drove a Morgan it frightened the life out of me. Never again, I muttered, searching for the nearest pub.

Then, in 1968, along came the Plus 8, and the nightmare started all over again. Submerged cat’s eyes felt like rocks in the road, while torque-induced chassis twist threatened an early departure into the next world. That said, and for whatever reason, even now in 2022, there is still an ownership demand for antiques. All I can add is; god help them.

As with all these guides, although compressed into less than 100 pages, it provides more than enough back up the amateur, and sometimes the professional, needs to prevent a major blunder. More important, it fits one’s pocket both in size and, at just £14.99, also the price.

So, if you must buy a Morgan, I thoroughly recommend buying this compact paperback. You know it makes sense.
