FORMULA 1 TECHNOLOGY: The engineering explained
It would be easy to criticise this book, after all, since Steve committed his words to paper, the ever-evolving world of Formula One has changed, in some areas quite considerably. So, I’m thinking: Why write an out-of-date book, when the subject matter is primarily social media material. This is the reason print magazines also publish on line. To keep up.
That aside, there is much among the 332 pages to satisfy the inquisitive mind, from chassis design through safety, braking and electronics, before concluding with overall design, and set up. There is no index, and no dust jacket.
Overall, this is a well-produced and illustrated technical history of Grand Prix racing which, at £55.00, provides reasonable value-for-money. However, wait a while and I’m sure copies will be on sale via eBay and auto-jumbles for a fraction of the cover price.
