Season Finale, Silverstone GP Circuit 

Motor Racing Legends closes off its 2022 season with the Silverstone GP meeting this weekend 22-23 October.

Saturday commences with an entertaining array of Historic Touring Cars for the Historic Touring Car Challenge and Tony Dron Trophy with U2TC and STCC. For the final time this year, these cars will thunder down the Hamilton straight at the start of the hour-long race. The two Nissan Skylines of Ric Wood and Jonathan Bailey will be gunning for the spoils but they might not have it their own way. Fans of the blue oval will be cheered to see a strong turnout of Escorts and Capris in various guises, topped off with David Tomlin's Spa 24 Hour-winning Batibouw-liveried car and a brace of BMWs E30 M3s will be ready to pounce. The rare Bathurst Holden Commodore of Graham Pattle and Mark Burton returns to the track after a promising debut earlier this summer and a captivating battle from the strong contingent of Lotus Cortinas contesting U2TC is guaranteed.

Also on Saturday, the GT Allcomers Challenge, organised by the Stratton Motor Company, has attracted an exciting line up of Aston Martin GT2 and GT4, Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Ginetta G55.

Following on will be the headline event of the weekend, the Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup three-hour race. Michael Birch and Gareth Burnett with David and Andrew Wenman contest the Pre-'61 Sports Cars class with a Lotus XV and Morgan Plus 4 respectively. An endearing collective of Lotus Elans will be battling for the under 2-litre class, Simon Evans and James Littlejohn line up after their inspiring top 10 placing in the recent Spa Six Hours race and a remarkable array of pre-'66 Porches will be a sight to behold with nine cars on parade - the largest marque representation of the race. Could it be a Jaguar E-type on the podium or a Shelby Cobra? Class 4 for large capacity pre-'66 cars often hold the key - where up-and-coming driver, Harry Barton makes his Pall Mall Cup debut in his TVR Griffith. The flag drops just before 3.00pm on Saturday for an epic battle into the dusk.

Sunday hosts a three-race card from the HRDC including the Gerry Marshall Trophy, Dunlop Allstars with Classic Alfa Challenge, and Jack Sears Trophy.


From Motor Racing Legends, the Pearson brothers, Gary and John, are hot contenders for the spoils of the Jaguar Classic Challenge, but with Le Mans Classic race-winning Matt Wrigley and Rhea Sautter, and Andy Newall hot on their heels it’s set to be a thrilling showdown.

Ben Eastick and and Karl Jones will have their sights set on a Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy win in their Jaguar D-type, however, the exotic Lotus X of Malcolm Paul and Rick Bourne has been on blistering form all year and will put up a strong challenge. Coupled with the Stirling Moss Trophy the one-hour battle welcomes an exquisite line-up of pre-1961 Sports Racing Cars to Silverstone, which could well be a Lister Jaguar benefit, but Ben Adams’ nimble Lola Mk1 will be in the mix fending off a host of Lotus and Coopers.

Operating from the International Wing of Silverstone, spectators are welcome. Tickets cost £16 per day or £30 for the weekend.
