Members Meeting 2026/ SOLD OUT
Tuesday 14th April 2026
83rd Members Meeting: Saturday/Sunday 18-19 April 2026
If you were umming and ahhing about going, well forget it, because the event is sold out. Am I surprised? Well yes, and no. Without doubt it's a great line-up of historic racing, with a few extras thrown in, such as a grand Sat evening of live entertainment and fireworks, for those not entirely convinced that standing out in the cold for two days is a good idea, or, and wearing my cynical hat for a minute, for the same money you could probably arrange two weeks in the sun for the price of GRRC membership, plus four Goodwood entry tickets and half a sandwich. This then, is up market motorsport for those who dress up, not down, and have never heard of Cadwell Park or Croft. And nothing wrong with it of course. You pays your money, and you takes your choice.
Goodwood is a superb circuit, both to drive, and at which to spectate, nowhere else in the land can one get so close to the action, separated by no more than a slatted wooden fence. That's right. No FIA steel here folks. Lean over, take pictures, and smell the Castrol R. And plenty of room 'the right crowd, and no crowding' to quote Pre-war Brooklands. Because of speed, Goodwood racing is loosely restricted to cars built before the circuit closed in 1966. However, demonstrations and one off speed trials elasticate things, so expect the odd F1 car or Le Mans GT to waken you from your post picnic slumber. Especially as Jensen Button has been invited, and the era of James Hunt is up for celebration. Gates open as from 07.30 with qualifying and fourteen races, including bikes, over the two days. Finally. Take an umbrella and a word of warning, leave the high-heels at home. Hmm.??
