Minardi Days in Imola 2025: What a glorious Italian autumn! Pics and words: Roman Klemm
The organisation surrounding former F1 team boss Piercarlo Minardi has once again impressed fans in Imola this year with sensational racing cars and big names available in the paddock. Numerous F1, F2, F3 and F-Italia cars flooded the track for two days in change with sportscars and touring cars. The pits were freely available for fans which came in thousands. The pits were full of Ferraris, McLarens, Marches, Dallaras, Alfas and so on… And then there were great personalities. From my point of view, the most interesting participant this year was the illness-affected Philippe Alliot. The Frenchman started ten times in the 24h of Le Mans and raced in Formula 1 for RAM, Larrousse, Ligier and McLaren. For the first time I could even meet legendary Lauda-mechanic Ermano Cuoghi - I admit I had no idea thet he is still alive…
And then there was an army of italian ex-F1 stars: Arturo Merzario, Riccardo Patrese, Bruno Giacomelli, Beppe Gabbiani, Marco Apicella, Andrea Montermini and of course Pierluigi Martini, Minardis fisrt F1 driver ever. From Argentina came a strong delegation led by former F1 driver Miguel Angel Guerra with Mr. Tuilo Crespi and his son Luciano, presenting their immacular F1-replicas that were built by their company and used for the Senna-Netflix-series. A very nice sidekick of the event are the numerous book presentations and celebrations. Former F3-racer Max Angelelli received the Alboreto-Prize and the Gilles-Villeneuve-Club from city of Erbe celebrated its 50. anniversary. Just to name a few of the highlights on offer. Words...
