Vintage Prescott once again showcased the very best of the Vintage Sports-Car Club, as competitors, spectators and families gathered for a weekend celebrating everything from world-class competition to automotive heritage. While the stopwatch was kept busy throughout the weekend, the event was about far more than outright speed, combining record-breaking performances with exciting new initiatives and a continued commitment to nurturing the next generation of historic motorsport.
"Vintage Prescott is always one of the highlights of our year, and this year's event perfectly captured everything the VSCC stands for," said Club Secretary, Tania Brown. "Whether it was seeing records challenged on the hill, welcoming so many young competitors, or watching visitors enjoy everything from the Bugatti Trust to our newly laid out trade village, there really was something for everyone. It was also wonderful to see new partnerships and initiatives continuing to inspire future competitors, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the weekend such a success."
Vintage Prescott has always been a place where history is celebrated, but this year's event also demonstrated that the sport continues to evolve. One of the weekend's biggest talking points came when an invited Alfa Romeo eclipsed the long-standing Class 6 record. Although, as an invited competitor, the time will not officially replace the existing class record, it was nevertheless a remarkable performance and a fitting achievement for one of the many Alfa Romeos that made this year's event so special. While hopes of gathering thirty examples ultimately proved ambitious, spectators were treated to one of the finest collections of Alfa Romeos seen at Prescott for many years, with numerous rarely seen competition cars joined by stunning examples displayed in the Orchard.
